Individual Skid Car Conditions
It is the intention of Alconbury Driving Centre to provide a thoroughly enjoyable ‘Skid Car Experience’ and we will do all in our power to ensure that every client is fully satisfied. - The Skid Car Experience cannot be undertaken by anyone who suffers from, or has a previous medical history of, neck or back injury, or physical and medical problems of any kind likely to exacerbated by sudden movement.
- The Skid Car Experience cannot be undertaken by anyone who has a tendency to motion sickness, or suffers from migraine attacks or mental phobias.
- The Skid Car Experience cannot be undertaken by anyone who is pregnant.
- The application for a place on the Skid Car Experience will be confirmed by e-mail to the address provided on registration. The e-mail will be sent with a read/receipt acknowledgement. A follow up telephone call will also be made to the client/applicant.
The confirmation will be sent upon receipt of the cheque payment. Once the place is confirmed there is no refund for cancellation by the client at less than 14 days’ notice. Earlier cancellation will result in an alternative programme being confirmed. - If, in advance of the day, Alconbury Driving Centre become aware that the skid car programme cannot take place, the client will be notified by e-mail to the address provided on registration, as soon as possible. The e-mail will be sent with a read/receipt acknowledgement. A follow up telephone call will also be made to the client/applicant on the number provided at registration.
- Where such cancellation is at less than 14 days notice a full refund will be provided or, if requested, an alternative date will be confirmed to the client. Where the cancellation is 14 days’ notice or more an alternative programme will be confirmed.
- If on the day of the programme, due to technical failure, instructor illness or other unforeseen reason the programme cannot continue, a full refund will be offered, or another complete programme.
- Applications for a place on the Skid Car Experience will not be considered if received less than 14 days before the date of the event applied for. An alternative date will be offered.
- If no confirmation is received as a result of an application, the place is not confirmed. A telephone enquiry to the Driving Centre on 01480 457439 may assist the confirmation process.
- Participation on the day is subject to the client showing his/her valid car driving licence for manual transmission (Category B) vehicles.
Participation on the day is subject to the discretion of the driving instructor and participation will be prevented where any of the following circumstances apply:
the client is found at any time during the programme to have alcohol or illegal drugs in their possession, or he/she is thought, with reasonable cause, to be under the influence of either;
The nature of the activities undertaken means that all clients must be safety conscious, attentive, and responsive to directions from the driving instructors. Any client who persistently, or wilfully, fails to act in that way will not be allowed to continue;
Where a client behaves in such a way as to place themselves or anyone else at risk of injury. - By participating in the Skid Car Experience, clients are demonstrating their agreement to accept all personal and property risks, and that they absolve the Chief Executive, Directors, voluntary staff, employees and advisors of the Alconbury Driving Centre, of all responsibility, to the extent it is legal so to do.
