Individual Young Driver Training; Parents' Information
Most parents we know are worried about their children starting to drive, so we have put this programme together to give the youngsters what they want and put your minds at rest.
- We know the problems
- We know what to do
- We have excellent facilities
- We are SAFE
The Programme will be stimulating and enjoyable — in fact it will be lots of fun — but it is designed to influence the attitude and behaviour of future young drivers so all the youngsters will do basic theoretical work as well as actually driving.
This is a fairly intensive programme that provides three hours’ tuition. The time can be taken all at once, (not recommended) or booked over a period of time, by agreement with your instructor.
‘Programme 16’ is not an easy option. The youngsters must be committed to becoming a ‘better than average driver’ and they will be expected to give a written undertaking to that effect.
Good humour and patience are essential elements of the teaching style and students will always be treated with respect. The young people will be taking part in a programme that they are unlikely ever to forget.
We understand that people learn new skills at different rates and we make allowances for that. Coping with those differences is the art of good teaching and we will use a range of methods to ensure that youngsters understand both theory and practice.
There will also be occasions when skidding and poor control are demonstrated to them in unforgettable ways.
If necessary, the students can be picked up, driven to Alconbury, and returned to their home afterwards. The travelling time will be used for training (observing driver behaviour) but as the students will not actually be driving, the fee for transporting them will be adjusted accordingly.
The profit we make is used to improve facilities at the Alconbury Driving Centre and increase its capacity so that many more youngsters will have this opportunity.
